******************* 50-year-old David Saunders of main floor, 75 James Street was arrested on the 13th of January and charged with one count of trafficking in a controlled drug or substance and one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug or substance.
It is alleged that an officer from the Joint Forces Drug Unit, which consists for members from the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service, the OPP Drug Enforcement Section, the RCMP, and the OPP North East Region, observed the accused sell what was believed to be a narcotic to an individual.
The officer stopped the accused, who was in his vehicle.
The officers arrested the accused and a search of the vehicle located 17 individually bags of marijuana.
The total amount of marijuana seized was 9.1 grams, which has a street value of approximately $137.
