Paul Quesnele, University Secretary, Office of the Secretariat, released the following statement today: 

"Kelli-Ann Lemieux, current Chair of the Board of Governors at Algoma University, will be taking a leave of absence from her role. This comes after careful consideration as she transitions into a new position as President and CEO of St. Joseph’s General Hospital Elliot Lake.

"Algoma University has always been shaped by the vision, commitment, and collective strength of its people. We are deeply grateful for Kelli-Ann’s leadership and dedication to Algoma University, and the board supports her request for a leave to allow her to adjust to this exciting new chapter of her career.

"I am pleased to announce that Rob Battisti will assume the role of Board Chair. Rob is a skilled and steady leader and brings a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to Algoma University. We are confident that Rob’s leadership will help guide us through this period of change and opportunity."
