Algoma U collaboration offers more options to southern Ontario students

BRAMPTON - The pathway to higher education is becoming easier for students in Ontario seeking to enhance their college education with a university degree. Centennial College and Algoma University have signed a record 13 new transfer credit agreements creating advanced pathways for Centennial graduates to complete a university degree in as little as two years.

“In a post-COVID world, success will be driven by collaborative, integrated approaches that pool talent, resources and opportunities,” said Dr. Craig Stephenson, president and CEO of Centennial College. “The partnership with Algoma University is one such collaboration that will offer students seamless learning journeys in a wide range of programs, from business to software engineering technician to social services worker, significantly extending students’ social and professional networks and their employment opportunities. I couldn’t be more excited for what this partnership means for our students, employers and our respective communities.”

These agreements strengthen the partnership between our two institutions. Participating students will benefit by having more options to stay in the GTA by studying at Algoma’s campus in Brampton or travel north to pursue a university education in Sault Ste. Marie. These agreements are the ideal combination of higher education and make students that much more valuable to employers.

The new articulation agreements struck between Algoma University and Centennial College support pathways in addictions and mental health, business administration, accounting, computer science, liberal arts, justice services, police foundations and social services.
