Algoma Steel reports that a worker was hurt in an industrial accident on Tuesday.

"Yesterday, one of our employees sustained an injury while preparing scrap for our operations and required medical attention," Laura Devoni, director of strategy, corporate affairs and sustainability, tells SooToday.

"We are supporting the individual and investigating the incident in accordance with our health and safety procedures," Devoni said.

"The Ministry of Labour was notified and ministry personnel later visited the steelworks."
