Algoma Public Health reports one new case of COVID-19 in the Sault

Case #474 falls into the 'international travel' category

Algoma Public Health (APH) is reporting one new case of COVID-19 in Sault Ste. Marie and surrounding area.

A notice was issues by APH that case #474 falls into the "international travel" category, meaning that the individual contracted the infection while traveling outside of Canada.

The individual was tested on Oct. 2, and is currently self-isolating.

APH reports that there are 6 active cases and one hospitalization due to COVID-19 in the Algoma district.

Algoma regions that have reports COVID cases in the last 14 days include:

  • Sault Ste. Marie and area
  • Elliot Lake and area
  • North Algoma
