Algoma Public Health is reporting 32 new cases of COVID-19.
All but one of those cases is in the Sault Ste. Marie area. The other case is in Central and East Algoma.
This brings the total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic to 1358.
Of these new cases, 16 can be linked to close contact with a known case of COVID-19, one is tied to international travel, nine are under investigation and six are of unknown origins.
There was also a low risk exposure at the Dollarama in Market Mall on Monday, Dec. 6 between 12 p.m and 1 p.m.
Any individual who was present on the date and times listed in the potential low-risk exposure is asked to:
- Self-monitor for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 for 10 days from potential exposure.
- Self-isolate immediately if symptoms develop.
- Seek testing if symptoms occur.
There are currently 271 active cases and 10 hospitalizations in the Algoma Public Health region.
