SooToday received the following obituary from O’Sullivan Funeral Home for Alberto Greganti, a veteran of the Second World War:

Passed away peacefully, at The Sault Area Hospital, on Monday, January 25, 2016. Alberto was in his 100th year.

Survived by his devoted wife Delia (nee Serafini). Alberto will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his children Gabriel (Robin) and Roberto.

Nonno of Davy (Jayme), Barrett and Barbie. Great Nonno of Lamishia, Tamika and Isla. Caring brother of Georgio (Gabriella).

Predeceased by his siblings Emelia (late Elio) Feri, Gina (late Mario) Muratori, Aldo (late Eva) and all his other siblings in Italy.

Brother in law of the late Dino Serafini. Son of the late Angelo and Virginia Greganti and son in law of the late Joseph and Angela Serafini.

Zio Berto to many nieces and nephews.

Alberto will also be dearly missed by his many friends and acquaintances.

Family and Friends may call at O’Sullivan Funeral Home and Cremation Centre (corner of Cathcart and St. James St) on Thursday, January 28, 2016 from 10:30am to 12:30 pm.

Funeral mass to be held at 1:00pm at St. Veronica’s Church (559 Douglas St) with Father Ron Ambeault officiating.

Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Mausoleum.

The family would like to thank the nurses, doctors, staff and volunteers of The Sault Area Hospital ICU and 3C departments, especially Deanna, M.C. Danz and Jennifer.

Memorial donations in Alberto’s memory can be made to St Veronica’s Church and would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Dad was a dedicated and supportive family man to both immediate and extended family. He was our rock!

He was extremely proud of his wine and tomatoes and well respected for his “cantina”.

He retired with pride after 37 years at Algoma Contractors.
