If you're a local fund raiser, be very, very sure that no kid from Rosedale Public School ever gets to a potential donor before you do.
These kids are good.
Really good.
About 200 students from the school on Chapple Avenue proved this afternoon that they're among the Sault's slickest money-raisers, coming up with $4,524 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
Considered particularly dangerous for their ability to extract cash for a worthy cause are Kenneth Kalinowski, a Grade 6 student who brought in the top haul of $230, and Julie Turcotte, the teacher-volunteer who organized today's event.
Accompanied by their teachers, the kids participated in a noon-hour march down Willoughby to Pine, on to McNabb and Allard and then back to school.
There, they were served a free lunch.
Of course, there's really no such thing as a free lunch.
In this case, the freebie food was actually a kick-off for a regular hot lunch program at Rosedale.
The monthly lunches are aimed at (you guessed it!) raising still more cash for Rosedale Public School's junior philanthropists.
