Twas the day before Christmas and all through Algoma a bitter wind was blowing hard.
The wind warning issued yesterday by Environment Canada has been ended but the cleanup is no where near it's end.
Christmas 2015 will come to be known as the blustery Christmas as trees were torn from the ground and tossed onto lawns, driveways, and roads.
Decorations blew away and garbage cans attempted to escape all over the region.
Saulites and Algoma residents alike report damage to their property from last night's winds that gusted to 90 km/h at times.
Both PUC Distribution in Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma Power Inc. had equipment damaged and almost 1500 customers in the region experienced power outages.
At time of writing, some people living north and east of the Sault still have no power.
But, even through the chaos of last minute Christmas preparations combined with the task of cleaning up after the storm, several loyal SooToday readers sent us some pretty amazing shots of storm damage.
"I was out doing some last minute Christmas errands today and I saw this at the Water Tower Inn/ Casey's Resturant," said loyal SooToday reader, Holly, about the picture above.
