The Kaha:wi Dance Theatre performed its compelling production A Story Before Time last evening at the Kiwanis Community Theatre Centre as part of the 38th annual Algoma Fall festival.

A Story Before Time is a dramatic and enchanting interpretation of the traditional Iroquoian creation story told through fluid dance and rich music.

After falling from the sky world to the water world through the roots of the celestial tree, Sky Woman begins to create the world we know today upon a turtle's back.

The tale closes with a battle between twin brothers, The Bent One and Holder of the Heavens.

Upcoming Algoma Fall Festival performances include Drums United on October 22, Lynn Miles on October 23, and Alex Cuba on October 29.
