Sault Forest Products Ltd., in conjunction with Meakin Forest Enterprises Inc., held a grand opening celebration on McNabb Street today, with great deals on locally-manufactured, totally-covetable white cedar products.

Paul Montgrain, owner of Sault Forest Products, got together with Shaun Meakin to put on a barbecue and show off the merchandise.

And it wasn't the first time the two companies have gotten together.

Since last fall, they've been closer than two peas in a pod.

"We're processing products together, trying to bring added value to our product line," Montgrain tells SooToday.com.

He pointed to the sauna behind him.

"We use white cedar sawlogs from Meakin to make these and other products," Montgrain said.

The barbecue today raised money for the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Hot dogs, hamburgers and beverages were sold by donation.

Montgrain also said that $20 from every picnic table ordered today will be donated to Heart and Stroke.
