According to Environment Canada's recorded data for the Sault area, the storm that blew through town last evening brought 55-kilometer-per-hour sustained winds and blowing rain.
Around midnight, maximum gusts were recorded at 89 kilometers per hour.
As a result, downed trees, minor property damage and power outages have been reported throughout the area.
Loyal SooToday.com readers Brenda Ostaff and Robert and Christine Yates submitted photos of some of the damage they observed.
Photos 1 through 4 in the gallery below, submitted by Ostaff, are of boats that got rocked off their cradles and swept ashore at Sand Bay on Lake Superior.
Photos 5 through 10 were submitted by the Yates and show damage sustained at the Pointe des Chenes trailer park.
