Sault Ste. Marie's annual zombie walk makes its return this weekend.
The spooky event is slated for Saturday beginning at the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre.
Doors open at 2 p.m. for the event with pre-walk activities, including:
- Thrilling Games: Collect a stamp at each zombie game for an entry to the door prize
- Face painting: Face painting will be available for Zombie transformations. A variety of fake bloods will also be available to make your zombie look deadly chic
- Shopping Spree: A collaboration with Algoma Makers Market will bring 30 vendors selling unique and eerie treasures. The Soo Zombie Walk will also have a table with Hallowe’en goods for sale, including discount costumes
- 360° photo booth: Capture memories of your zombie transformation with a 360-degree photobooth presented by Art Expressions
- Brain Eating Contest: Test your bravery and appetite for the grotesque with Jell-o brains
- Costume contest: We encourage all attendees to don their most terrifying zombie costumes and join the horde. Resistance, or zombie slayers, are also welcome to defend against the zombie hoard
- Food drive: Participants are encouraged to bring a non-perishable donation to the event. Food collected will be donated to local food banks to support those in need.
The zombies will then take to the streets at 6 p.m.
A costume awards ceremony and dance party are also planned after the walk at the Bushplane.
Admission for the event is $10. Children 4 and under are free.
