The Northern Outlet Youth Holiday Bingo
Dec. 17
The Northern Outlet is hosting a virtual Youth Holiday Bingo event this Friday, Dec. 17 starting at 6:30 p.m. The event is for youth aged 13-18. Registration is required and can be done by visiting The Northern Outlet’s website. Prizes available include gift cards, restaurant certificates, beading kits, treats and more. The Northern Outlet will also be hosting an online holiday baking event for youth on Wednesday, Dec. 22. The first 10 youth will receive free ingredients. Both events will be held via Zoom.
Northern Lights Virtual Tour
Dec. 17
This virtual behind-the-scenes tour of the science behind one of nature’s most remarkable light shows, the Northern Lights, is being held on Friday, Dec. 17 from 8 to 9 p.m. The live event will be streamed via YouTube. Tickets are pay what you can and registration can be done online. The virtual Northern Lights tour is hosted by University of Wisconsin Milwaukee.
SOYA Annual Free Christmas Dinner
Dec. 18Save Our Young Adults (SOYA) will be handing out its annual free Christmas dinner on Saturday, Dec. 18 from 12 until 4 p.m. at 180 Projects Art Gallery on Gore Street. The dinner will include soup, turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, vegetables, homemade bread, and Christmas cookies. Christmas stockings will also be included.
Virtual Wine Class: Holiday Cookies and Wine Pairing
Dec. 18
In this virtual class hosted by Winkler and Samuels Wine, you will learn what wines will pair best with your favourite holiday cookies. The live class will start on Saturday, Dec. 18 at 7 p.m. and run for one hour. If you aren’t able to watch it live, the event will be recorded to view later. Registration for this Christmas-themed event can be done online.
108 Sun Salutations for the Winter Solstice - The Healing Loft
Dec. 21
The Healing Loft is hosting a meditation class on Tuesday, Dec. 21 that promises to help detoxify, reground, and activate prana/life force energy. It will also help to let go of emotions in the body that are no longer needed. The repetition of Sun Salutations are done to honour the change in seasons. The class can be done in person or online via Zoom.
