Who has the best pizza in town? Time to decide once and for all

Are you a pizza pro? Care to prove that on the public stage?

The City of Sault Ste. Marie is looking for local businesses to participate in its first-ever Pizza Fest happening on Aug. 24 in the Downtown Plaza.

The competition will determine, by popular vote, who has the best pizza in town in two categories: Best Pepperoni and Cheese Pizza, and Best Specialty Pizza.

Sample-sized slices of pizza will be available from each competitor for $1 each, as Pizza Fest attendees cast their votes for their local favourites.

The event will also include a variety of family-friendly activities and live music.

“Our community’s love for pizza is well-known, and Pizza Fest is the perfect way to celebrate,” said Jari Pihelgas, supervisor of recreation, in a news release. “This event offers a unique opportunity for local businesses to connect with the community and share delicious pizzas with a broader audience. We are excited to host this inaugural experience and look forward to making this a memorable event for all.”
