Oktoberfest happens this weekend under The Rink at the Machine Shop; Algoma Fall Festival continues with a variety of events

Thursday, Oct. 13

  • ARCH Hospice will host its 7th annual Hiawatha Fall Walk at Hiawatha Park from 6 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $30 each and include soup, bread and a handmade bowl to keep at the end of the event.
  • Stories Steeped in Stone presents M.D. Dunn and his performance of Rootless: Settler Songs at the Heritage Discovery Theatre located at The Ermatinger-Clergue National Historic Site at 7 p.m. Tickets are available online.
  • The Algoma Fall Festival presents The Tenors: Now and Forever at The Machine Shop at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available online.

Friday, Oct. 14

  • Outspoken Brewing presents Oktoberfest under the Rink at The Machine Shop from 5 p.m. to midnight. The event features food, refreshments, activities and live entertainment. For more information, please click here
  • The Sunset Fall Colours Cruise in support of SSM Helping Hands begins at 5:30 p.m. aboard the Miss Marie Lock Tour boat. Please call Wendy at 705-943-8363 or Lise at 705-257-7446 for more information and tickets.
  • The Soo Greyhounds face off against the Peterborough Petes at the GFL Memorial Gardens at 7:07 p.m.
  • The Algoma Fall Festival presents Tanya Talaga as she discusses Indigenous culture, history and her award-winning book Seven Fallen Feathers. The event begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Art Gallery of Algoma. Tickets are available online.
  • RFR Madness plays Shooters Lounge (68 Dennis St.) starting at 8 p.m.
  • Soundcheck is set to hit the stage at Reggie's Place Tavern, 458 Queen St. E., at 9 p.m.
  • L!ME performs at the Esquire Club from 9:30 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Saturday, Oct. 15

  • The Algoma Fall Festival will host artist Patrick Hunter for two painting classes at the Art Gallery of Algoma at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. To register, please click here
  • The Algoma Fall Festival presents a Sharon, Lois & Bram Singalong with Sharon, Randi & Friends at 1 p.m. at Korah Collegiate. Tickets are available online.

  • Northern Superior Brewing presents Blues, Brews and BBQ from 5 to 9 p.m. at The Tap Room. The event features live music from Smokehouse and food from Angry Joe's BBQ. Donations to the Sault Blues Society will be accepted.
  • The Soo Greyhounds face off against the Barrie Colts at the GFL Memorial Gardens at 7:07 p.m.
  • The Steeltown Playboys play the Whisky Barrel, 113 Gore St., from 8 p.m. until midnight.
