Algoma University Photography students Exhibit
Entitled The Vulnerable Observer, Algoma U photography students are pleased to announce the opening of their end-of-semester exhibit on Thursday, April 27, until April 30th.
The first off-campus exhibit for many of the participants, these images are the accumulation of several semesters of exploring the photographic medium in varying ways.
This exhibit and the Thursday night opening have been made possible through the generous support of Lucidia.
This collection of photographic work is an overview of images from about fifteen senior-level Algoma U students.
The general theme of the exhibit raises the question of 'who' the vulnerable one might be in a photographic exchange, the one 'observed', or the 'observer' behind the camera lens.
Professor JC Elvy describes how these portfolios evolved out of the students' earlier explorations on remembrance and 'memory', while the current work at Loplops would be a more intimate exploration of landscape, portraiture and the body.
Some of the exhibited work will be available for purchase.
LopLops is located at 651 Queen Street East, Sault Ste. Marie.
Opening event is Thursday, April 27 at 7 p.m.
Everyone is welcome!
