Hot on the heels of her debut CD release, Ottawa singer-songwriter Lynne Hanson will perform at the Loplop Lounge and Gallery in Sault Ste. Marie on Saturday January 27 starting at 9:30 p.m.

Lynne will also be playing afternoon shows at the Searchmont Ski Resort on January 27 and January 28 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Lynne will be accompanied by Sault Ste. Marie's Lindsay Pugh.

Since the release of Things I Miss this past September, Lynne has been attracting critical praise.

The track "River By My Side" recently received the 2006 Blues Award from the Ontario Council of Folk Festivals (OCFF).

The youngest in a family of eight children, Lynne was exposed to a diverse array of musical eras and styles as she grew up.

Her songs often capture a moment in time and invite the listener to explore universal themes of love, life and relationships.

The result is a truly unique brand of music that merges thought-provoking lyrics with Texas soul-country.

The release of Things I Miss follows five years of performing and honing her musical skills with Ottawa guitarist/ songwriter Shane Simpson (David Francey, James Cohen) in coffeehouses, bars and festivals across Canada.

In addition to performing as a singer-songwriter, Lynne has toured with storyteller Ruth Stewart Verger, providing musical support during the telling of the story of Marie-Anne Lagimodière.
