The rink at the GFL Memorial Gardens was packed Tuesday evening as the Bell Celebrity Skate celebrated its 26th year.
Following a fun skate, hundreds of young hockey players and fans had the chance to meet some of their idols on the Soo Greyhounds.
From hats and helmets to jerseys and sweaters, players were signing loads of apparel and providing autographs to swarms of excited kids.
Attendees raised funds for the Rotary Club of Sault Ste. Marie prior to the event, and this year’s total exceeded $77,000.
Those funds will go towards an assortment of Rotary youth and community projects in the Sault.
Prizes were also awarded to the top fundraising individuals and teams.
