Unleashed: The Sheepdogs play to capacity crowd at the Machine Shop

This was the band's first appearance in Sault Ste. Marie in eight years

Southern rock washed over the sold out crowd at the Machine Shop Saturday night, delivered in fine style by The Sheepdogs. The boys also brought plenty of 70s fashion, Old Style Pilsner and more hair than you can shake a stick at.

During the band's first appearance in Sault Ste. Marie since 2016, there was little chatter but a setlist full of fan favourites, including I've Got a Hole Where My Heart Should Be, How Late How Long, Who?, Feeling Good, Nobody and I Don't Know.

A beautiful opening set from Ellen Froese – also from Saskatoon – likely captured a trove of new fans for the young songstress. Interesting note: Her 2022 full-length release, Each Flower Growing, was produced in collaboration with The Sheepdogs' drummer, Sam Corbett.

From here, The Sheepdogs are schedule to perform in Thunder Bay Sunday night before heading west into Manitoba and beyond.
