Tribute act to reel in Steely Dan sounds at Sault show

Do you bust out your best air guitar moves whenever you hear 'Reelin' in the Years'?

Then this show is for you.

The hits of Steely Dan are coming to The Machine Shop on Wednesday, Oct. 30. Show time is 7 p.m.

Pretzel Logic is billed as Canada's premier musical tribute act to the iconic musical group.

"The Pretzel Logic live show delivers the bigtime goods with an arena-style concert," concert promoters S.T.A.Y. Events and The Borderline said in a release. 

"The stellar 8-piece lineup features a collection of award winning musicians. 
 
"Steely Dan forged a unique, lasting identity in the history of pop music culture resisting all rock 'n' roll conventions, blending jazz, traditional pop, blues, and R&B.

"They created a sophisticated and distinctive sound with catchy hooks and melodies, complex harmonies and time signatures, all topped by clever and cryptic lyrics." 

Steely Dan's popularity blossomed in the '70s and into the '80s as their albums consistently earned raves. Their numerous singles found their way to the top of the charts.

Rolling Stone magazine dubbed them "the perfect musical antiheroes for the '70s".

"When you check out their individual bios you are left to marvel at the quality bands and artists the members of Pretzel Logic have worked with, in studio and on tour," the show's promoters say. "It is truly an astonishing collective resume.  And needed because the music of Steely Dan calls for the highest level of musicianship."

Part of the proceeds from the show will be donated to 100 Women Who Care SSM.

Tickets are available at Stone's Office, 529 Queen St. and at The Gelato Mill in The Canal District.
