Attention movie lovers aged 10 to 19!
The Sault Ste. Marie Public Library is hosting its monthly Movie Matinee event, where teens can dive into the world of iconic films.
On Saturday, March 22, at the North Branch library, the featured movie will be the 2023 blockbuster Barbie.
The event is designed to be a relaxed space where kids can enjoy movies, snacks and interactions with peers, according to Ivan Chambueta, digital creator at the library.
The choice of Barbie was suggested by other library members.
The movie is free and open to all, with no registration required. The library will provide snacks, including pizza and beverages.
Movie Matinee is part of a broader series of monthly screenings that include a variety of films such as anime and live-action movies.
Chambueta emphasized that the event is part of the library’s digital creative space, which offers teenagers opportunities to develop skills in digital painting, 3D modelling and video games.
Movie Matinee is an opportunity for young film enthusiasts to learn about the magic behind movies.
