The ever-controversial and always outspoken Rosie O'Donnell will vacate her spot as co-host of The View come the end of her contract this June.

Unable to reach a contractual agreement in order to extend O'Donnell's post, both The View creator, Barbra Walters and Disney-ABC Television Group president of day-time programming, Brian Frons expressed disappointment and claim she will be missed.

O'Donnell's presence on the show may be responsible for the 15 percent increase this year in women viewers.

She has a knack for keeping herself in the news.

Recently, O'Donnell and Bill O'Reilly publicly exchanged strong opinions over the Iraq war and Donald Trump threatened to sue her for calling him a "snake oil salesman."

In February of this year, she went on a tirade on The View about Anna Nicole Smith only hours before the model's death.

Followng her announcement today on The View, O'Donnell said, "This has been an amazing experience, and one I wouldn't have traded for the world. Working with Barbara, Joy and Elisabeth has been one of the highlights of my career, but my needs for the future just didn't dovetail with what ABC was able to offer me. To all the viewers out there, I just want to say 'thank you' for opening up your hearts and your homes to me this past year. But you can always find me at rosie.com. Here's hoping there's more confetti for all of us going forward."

A replacement for O'Donnell has not yet been considered.
