The relevance of Roberto's organ

The man obviously loves his organ. And that Hammond C3 loves Roberto Bellan right back as evidenced by the lovely tones it exudes with every stroke of its fine keys.

The man obviously loves his organ.

And that Hammond C3 loves Roberto Bellan right back as evidenced by the lovely tones it exudes with every stroke of its fine keys.

An excerpt from the biography on his website is pretty clear about Bellan’s relationship with his organ.

"At the age of 20 his interest is for jazz and Blues with fusion between the classical method with Modern harmony. It’s exactly in these years when the organ comes completely forgotten (years 80") supplanted by the first digital electronic keyboards that explodes his interest for the Hammond organ, instrument from the warm, rich and unmistakable sound which will be able to give him artistic satisfactions bringing him to the most important national and international festivals."

Anyone wishing to try to come between Bellan and his organ, or just catch the show is invited to Loplops Lounge and Gallery on June 16 about 9 p.m.

Folks may also want to brush up on their Italian before asking Bellan about his techniques, though.

This well-traveled world-class musician with six CDs to his credit was born in Brescia, Italy and now hails from the neighbourhood of Milan.

Words from the little red bird

or what's happening at Loplops

Hi everyone,

Lust wanted to send out a reminder about the two great shows we have going on this week.

Wednesday, June 15th - two time juno award winner Jenny Whiteley will be in starting at 8 p.m. and ending around 10 p.m.

Tickets are $10.00 in advance and only $15.00 at the door. There should be a great crowd so come early to get the best seats.

Thursday, June 16th - all the way from italy, Roberto Bellan with Jay Case and Cliff Alloy.

This is a must see and there won't be any seats left for this show. This is his second appearance at Loplops and he made quite the impression the first time through.

He plays acid jazz, lounge blues and whole lotta funk. Enough said!

Also there is a wine tasting next wednesday night followed by a great performance by Claire Jenkins from Toronto.

Think Sarah Harmer.

Local favourite Laura Alopaeus will be opening around 8:30.

Talk to everyone real soon.

Steve.
