Mutant bluegrass band, The D.Rangers will be bringing their particular stylings of music to Loplops Lounge tonight, Monday, September 13th beginning at 9:00 pm.
The Winnipeg-based, 4-piece have emerged as one of the most exciting up and coming outfits in the Canadian roots music scene. Their unique fusion of bluegrass, old-time string band music, western swing and pure flat-out punk-rock craziness has won them friends and fans wherever they have played.
The D. Rangers’ unique sound, which has been described as bluegrass with a celtic vibe, owes as much to the caliber of the players as it does to their uncompromising musical vision.
The high lonesome singing and banjo picking of head honcho Dink Jebkins, guitar picking of Eldon Maynes Sr., mandolin slinging of Dixon Mason, and the bottom end provided by one “Uncle John” T. Plumeray, who plays on his trademark ‘muck bucket’ bass. At the very least, these boys have the monikers of bluegrass stars.
Don’t miss the D.Rangers encore performance tonight at 9:00pm!
