The Sylvan Circle Tour artists are inviting everyone to spend a day exploring the diverse artistry of our region. The Sylan Circle Tour, taking place on Saturday, September 18th from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, is a living example of what it means for artists and artisans to live and work in their communities.
Each year approximately forty artists and artisans participate in the 100 kilometre long tour, held from Echo Bay to Bruce Mines along Hwy 17 & 638. The artists display their diverse work in seven community halls, four studios and the Station House Gallery and Gift Shop in Echo Bay. In addition to displaying their work, many artists will be hosting on-site demonstrations throughout the day.
The Sylvan Circle Tour is self-guided and entirely free. Sylvan Circle signs will be placed along the highway to help guide individuals along the tour. For those interested in participating with a group, the Village Potters Art and Craft Shop is sponsoring a Bus Tour of the Sylvan Circle. The bus will be leaving the Village Potters at the corner of Spring and Queen Streets at 9:15 am Saturday morning. The bus tour requires advance tickets which are available for only $20.00 (including a lunch at the Brue Mines United Church). Tickets are only available at the Village Potters until September 15th.
There will also be a preview show held at Berkana Art Studios in the Cornwall Shoppes located at 503 Queen Street East from September 11th to 16th. The studio will have a sample showing of work by Sylvan Circle Tour participants.
