Wild Stallyns live at the Whisky Barrel

Feb. 18

Enjoy some more live music this weekend with Wyld Stallyns on Friday, Feb. 18 at the Whisky Barrel. There is no cover to watch the show. Wyld Stallyns is a local rock/blues/funk band that is all about having a good time and bringing the party to you. It's a campfire jam wherever you want to bring it, the band’s Facebook page reads. 

Family Day Fun at the Canadian Bushplane Museum

Feb. 21

The Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre is hosting some fun activities on Feb. 21 for Family Day this year. Admission will be half priced, which includes all games, crafts, the Entomica Insectarium and a free gift. Some activities planned for the day include a scavenger hunt, take-home crafts, games, Soo Dan Hap Ki Do demonstrations and more. Elsa from Frozen and Chase from Paw Patrol will also be there to meet the kids. You can get your Family Day passes in the lobby of the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre. This event is free for all members with a current membership card.

Cultural Craft Night

Feb. 24

Create your own beaded wristlet with the Northern Outlet’s Cultural Craft Night. This online event is for local youth and will be held on Thursday, Feb. 24 from 5-7 p.m. via Zoom. The first 10 youth to register will receive free supplies. 

Black History Month virtual celebrations

Feb. 25

For Black History Month 2022, Algoma University and The Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Anti-Black Racism committee are hosting virtual events all month long. On Friday, Feb. 25, The Black History Month Main Event will take place via Zoom from 1-2:30 p.m. The Keynote Speaker will be Dr. David Nanang. The Zoom link can be found here

Sainte Marie live at Mane Street Cafe

Feb. 25

Local band Sainte Marie will be performing live at Mane Street Cafe for the first time on Friday, Feb. 25 starting at 7 p.m. Enjoy a night full of music and Mane Street's martini and snack board special. Sainte Marie members Hannah Lindsay and Jacob Quarrell will perform solo sets to start and then come together as a singer-songwriter duo.
