Registration is now open for Algoma Conservatory of Music choirs.

Children, teens and adults are invited to sign up for the vocal ensembles.

There are two levels for the Sound of Magic choir under the direction of Denine Williams, with the junior ensemble for Grades 1 to 3, and the intermediate ensemble for Grades 4 to 7.

“In our choirs, children will explore a diverse repertoire, from the enchanting melodies of Disney to the classic tunes of Broadway,” said the Algoma Conservatory of Music in a news release.

“Each session is crafted to foster healthy vocal techniques, encourage self-expression, and build lasting friendships among peers who share a love for singing.”

Algoma Conservatory’s “Broadway Bound” Choir is aimed at teens with a passion for musical theatre who are in Grades 8 to 12.

“Participants will immerse themselves in a Broadway-focused musical repertoire, spanning from classics of ‘The Golden Age’ to contemporary hits,” the conservatory described.

“In ‘Broadway Bound,’ students will engage with a diverse array of songs, each session designed to enhance vocal techniques, encourage personal expression, and forge lasting friendships among peers with shared musical interests.”

And for the adult choir, “Broadway Bound & Beyond,” will see participants delve into a rich selection of Broadway tunes, from timeless classics of the Golden Age to modern hits and beyond.

“Our sessions are designed to enhance vocal techniques, promote artistic expression, and cultivate connections among like-minded individuals who share a love for musical performance,” the conservatory added.

At the end of the 10-week semester, each choir group will get the chance to showcase their talents on stage in front of family and friends.

Those who enrol by September 9 can take advantage of an early bird bonus.
