Algoma Repertory Theatre will be presenting the transformed female version of “The Odd Couple” February 19th – 22nd, 2025 at Quattro Hotel as a dinner theatre show and they have found the perfect cast to tickle your funny bone.
Directed by Marc Beaudette, Neil Simon’s revision of his hugely successful play, “The Odd Couple”, sees the lead characters transformed into Olive Madison and Florence Unger. Olive and their group of girlfriends are enjoying their weekly Trivial Pursuit night in Olive’s messy and ill-equipped apartment.
This new version follows unlikely roommates, neurotic neat freak Florence Unger, and unkept, messy Olive Madison, as they attempt to inhabit the same apartment without killing each other. Olive’s easy-going outlook on life soon clashes with Florence’s highly-strung neurotic tendencies, testing their friendship to the limit. Tensions escalate when Olive arranges a double date, leading to hilarious misunderstandings and uproarious moments.
Donna Hilsinger as Florence Unger and Heidi Ivany as Olive Madison play the two friends who are thrown together with exceedingly different personalities and lead this zany, funny crew, according to a news release.
Stephen Gagnon-Ruscio and Mario Torres play Manolo and Jesus Costazuela play our predominantly Spanish Speaking double dates. The gang of girlfriends are played by Kyla Robinson as Renee, the wisecracker, Catharina Christenson as Vera, sweet and naive, Fallon Smyl as Sylvie, high energy and Cassie Baxter as Mickey, the problem solver.
This side-splitting comedy is sure to delight audiences of all ages and tickets are on sale now. You can get them from Eventbrite at www.ARTinSSM.com or by calling Marc Beaudette at 705-943-9519.
