On Tuesday, March 22 at 5:30 p.m., Shakespeare - the Bard of Avon - will be featured at Bayliss Public Library.

Lake Superior State University Assistant Professor of Theatre, Spencer Christiansen, and his students Benjamin Bryer, Hannah Conner, Benjamin Eisenman, Samantha Holloway, Paige King, Susan Kirkman, and Tomantha Sylvester will present Sharing Shakespeare - Sonnets and Soliloquies.

There will be a brief introduction to Shakespeare, vocal warm-ups by the performers, and then readings of his sonnets and soliloquies.

The students are members of the first Shakespeare theatre class at LSSU in recent years.

The program is a Great Michigan Read program, related to the novel Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel.

Her novel Station Eleven, is the story of the Traveling Symphony, a troupe of Shakespearean actors and musicians traveling the shores of the Great Lakes in a post-apocalyptic Michigan.

The Great Michigan Read is presented by the Michigan Humanities Council, an affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities, and is generously funded by Meijer and other businesses and foundations, organizations, and individuals.
