Concerned and entertainment savvy SooToday.com reader, Joan Denley sent us some upsetting news about those crazy Canadians, the Sons of Butcher.

For those who don't know, SOB is not only a band but also a cartoon which airs on Teletoon's Detour, their more adult themed show.

Sort of a Spinal Tap meets South Park outfit, the cartoon is a ground-breaking combination of live action and animation and is faithfully watched by fans as far away as Serbia.

In November of 2006, your website reported on the Sons of Butcher Concert that happened at the Speak Easy at Algoma University.

It was an excellent concert and a fantastic review.

I'm not really sure if you'd be interested in updated news about the Butcher boys, but if you are, some details are to follow.

I'm writing because Teletoon will not be renewing the show for a third season.

I know that there's a pretty big fanbase in the Sault and we're rallying together with other fans across the country to convince Teletoon to reconsider their decision.

To Quote Jay Ziebarth, the creator and one of the stars of the show:

"The million dollar question has finally been answered but it's not the answer any of us wanted to hear.

Teletoon has decided that 26 ep's is enough SOB to serve the fans and will not be renewing us for a 3rd season.

If you're left scratching your head, so are we. We will be submitting an appeal that lays out all our accomplishments and hopefully they'll see the light.

But at the end of the day, maybe they just hate the show.

It's worth a shot though.

In the meantime, I think it's time we rallied the troops. We've seen what happens when the SOB fans unite.

We will be compiling a list of letters to submit with our package, so let your voices be heard.
