On Feb. 14, the Sault Symphony Orchestra (SSO) will present a virtual concert featuring the SSO string quartet, states a news release issued today.

While the performance is free to view on Facebook, YouTube and the SSO website, the organization urges viewers to make donations to support future in-person concerts.

Full text of the SSO news release follows:

The Sault Symphony Orchestra (SSO) is pleased to present a virtual Valentines and Violins concert just in time for Valentine’s Day.

Cuddle up with a loved one and join us on Facebook, YouTube, and our website at 7:30 on Feb. 14 for a selection of romantic pieces, performed by an SSO string ensemble, under the direction of acting musical director Stephen Mallinger. Visit our website for more details about the programme and to find the links to watch.

Although we will not be ticketing for the event, the SSO encourages supporters to make a donation of any size to the Symphony in lieu of admission fees. Those donations will ensure that the SSO is able to go forward with in-person concerts again as soon as pandemic restrictions allow.

All donors will receive a charitable receipt, and donations can be made online, or via cheque sent to: Sault Symphony Orchestra 1007 Trunk Rd. Room 213 Sault Ste. Marie, ON P6A 5K9
