A Sault-born artist aims to celebrate every body in her upcoming art exhibition.
In collaboration with Fringe North, Miranda Gallagher-Wickett’s Curves Ahead: Reclaiming the Body goes next week at the Sault Ste. Marie Museum.
In it, she invites viewers to “celebrate the diversity and resilience of the human body through a series of compelling lifecasting pieces of women from ages 22-87 years young.”
“Curves Ahead: Reclaiming the Body seeks to challenge societal norms and encourage a profound conversation about body acceptance and the multifaceted experience of being a woman,” said a news release about the event.
“The exhibition highlights personal stories of courage, self-recovery, and identity, emphasizing that every body is worth celebration.”
The exhibition runs from August 21 until August 25, with opening night on Thursday, August 22 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 690 Queen Ste E.
