Sass played air guitar. Kim played for real (photos)

Both Sass Jordan and Kim Mitchell, who rocked the last two time slots Saturday night at the Bell Border Jam Festival at Runway Park, played guitar.

Jordan busied herself dancing and playing air guitar between flaunting her impressive vocal skills.

In the mean time, Kim Mitchell chatted and joked with the audience when he wasn't ripping into one of his signature guitar riffs.

"In Toronto, the news is filled with people dying and big explosions and stuff," he told the audience. "In Sault Ste. Marie, stolen pork roasts make the news."

Drawing material from his extensive library, including a few tunes from his time with Max Webster, Mitchell ended day 2 of the Bell Border Jam on a serious high and humourous note.

Like Jordan, Mitchell also expressed his appreciation of the event and encouraged those in attendance to keep the festival going.

Bell Aliant project manager Jon Lang told SooToday.com that the company plans on making the three-day music festival and annual event.

Today, the final day of the festival, will see rock metal legends Blue Oyster Cult on stage at 10 p.m.

$50 day passes are still available at the Runway Park gate.
