This year’s Bell Celebrity Skate will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 8 at the GFL Memorial Gardens.
Children and youth will have the chance to meet the Soo Greyhounds and shake paws with Dash while supporting Rotary Youth Projects.
Admission is a minimum of $40 in pledges, but participants who fundraise above-and-beyond can take home amazing prizes, including this year’s top prize – a Nintendo Switch Console.
“It’s great to see the kids having so much fun skating with the Soo Greyhounds,” shared Bell Celebrity Skate co-chair, Mark Lepore.
The event is also a fundraising opportunity for local teams and youth groups.
“Fifty per cent of the funds raised go directly back to the teams to support their activities throughout the year with the remainder allowing Rotary to support local youth projects such as Thrive Child Development Centre, the Rotary Youth Exchange program, and Rotary District Science Fair.”
This year’s team fundraising prizes include a pool party and bowling parties. All team members also qualify for individual prizes and incentives.
All participants receive a program for collecting signatures from the Soo Greyhounds and have the opportunity to have their pictures taken with the players. More information about team fundraising, individual prizes, and pledge forms can be found online.
