Public Skating at The Century 21 Rink 

Feb. 5-13

Get outside and enjoy the last stretch of winter with public skating at The Century 21 Rink at The Machine Shop site as a part of this year’s Bon Soo winter carnival. The rink will be open for public skating Wednesday to Friday from 3 to 5 p.m. and during weekends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Make sure to wear your souvenir Bon Soo button. COVID-19 guidelines and social distancing will be in effect. 

Wellness Wednesdays Walk n' Talk

Feb. 9

Amanda from Strong Minds will be hosting a guided winter wellness walk around downtown on Wednesday, Feb. 9. This walk is open to kids aged 13-18 looking to get some exercise and socialize, while enjoying a free hot chocolate courtesy of Big Lake Cabin. The walk will start at Big Lake Cabin, 765 Queen St. E., at 4:30 p.m. Make sure to dress warm. 

Cooking with Pauline

Feb. 11

Local youth can spend a virtual evening cooking with Community Kitchen facilitator Pauline on Friday, Feb. 11. This online event for kids aged 13-18 will be held via Zoom. Registration can be completed online. The first 10 participants will get free ingredients delivered. 

Bon Soo Lantern Ski

Feb. 11-12

As a part of this year’s Bon Soo events, Hiawatha Highlands is hosting two lantern cross country ski events on Feb. 11 and Feb. 12 from 6-10 p.m. The 4 km Pinder trail will be fully lit by candle lanterns. This is an event for all ages and admission is by Bon Soo Button. 

Valentine’s Day Brewga

Feb. 13

Participate in an hour of relaxing yoga with friends and family taught by local yoga instructor Amelie Goudreau, followed by a pint at Northern Superior Tap Room. Valentine’s Day Brewga will be held on Sunday, Feb. 13 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Registration is $30 and can be done online. A yoga mat and proof of vaccination is required.
