With Rotaryfest in the rearview mirror for another year, there's still some celebrating to be done.
In a release issued this morning, a number of winners were announced from the various events held over the three days of festivities.
Billy Bones BBQ won both people’s choice and best ribs, while the trophy for best chicken went to Silver Bullet.
People’s choice was determined by votes cast by attendees throughout the festival. Best ribs and chicken were determined by a panel of local judges.
Jake Quinton won the $500 people’s choice award Wheels on the Water Car Show with his 1954 Buick Century, two-door hard top.
Marking the 100 anniversary of the Rotary Community Day Parade, category winners were chosen by volunteer judges from the Kiwanis Club of Sault Ste Marie.
The winners are:
- Best overall: City of Sault Ste Marie presents Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Serve You!
- Best corporate entry: OLG presents OLG’s Sooper Heroes
- Best community entry: Bandettes Drum and Bugle Corps Alumni presents Sisterhood of the Travelling Kilt
- Best entry depicting the theme of “Sooperheroes”: Big Brothers Big Sisters presents Every Superhero Needs a Sidekick
A mini-putt for prizes was held and and had winners in two categories; 12 and under and 13 and over.
Adrian O’Dell won in the adult category, with Jeff Hamilton as the runner up.

- $1,000 Soo Mill: Robin Strong
- $4,000 Soo Mill: Terri Perlini
- $10,000 Soo Mill: Lisa Guise
- Grand Prize Winner: Leah Malkki, who picked the $100,000 cash option
