A trio of multi-instrumentalists that has toured the world playing jazz, classical, world music and pop is bringing its sounds to Sault Ste. Marie.

The Montreal Guitar Trio (MG3) will play two nights at The Loft in November.

The group "surprises, amazes, exalts, and ignites audiences" with their dynamic and breathtaking stage presence, according to a news release from the Algoma Conservatory and presenter Black Fly Jam.

"This passionate trio has been sharing their work with fervor for over 25 years. In addition to their three guitars, these multi-instrumentalists also sing and play the violin, mandolin, bass, accordion and more."

Their music ranges from Tchaikovsky, Mozart and Rossini to Radiohead, the Beatles and Bowie.

They also perform music from closer to home, as well as their own original compositions.

"However, above all, they pay tribute to the great Ennio Morricone, every time and always," according to the release.

Consisting of guitarists Sébastien Deshaies, Glenn Lévesque, and Marc Morin, the MG3 continues to perform hundreds of concerts in the most renowned concert halls in the world, including the legendary Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the BB King Blues Club in New York and the Smith Center in Las Vegas.

Montreal Guitar Trio (MG3) play at The Loft at 75 Huron St. on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 17 and 18 at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Cash bar. Tickets are $35 (includes all fees).
