Sophie the Cocker Spaniel just may have been the star of the afternoon Saturday during the annual Bon Soo dog pull competition at The Machine Shop.
While she didn’t really manage to pull much at all on her first try (the blocks were fake and made of styrofoam), and she just sat her keister down without giving even the slightest tug on her second try (even with an empty sled), she was cute as the dickens and stole all the hearts.
And she was presented a trophy from Foremost Pet Food for it.
Other events happening on the second-to-last day of the winter carnival included snow canoeing, bum slides, the Sault College Pow Wow, the Black History Month Celebration and Dinner, and much more.
The 54th annual Bon Soo celebration wraps up Sunday. Activities include the Winter Playground located at The Machine Shop, open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.; the Bon Tots Sunday Funday at the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre from noon to 4 p.m., and a family dance at Northern Grand Gardens from 5 to 8 p.m.
