SooToday has confirmed with Bon Soo manager Jeany White that in addition to the opening ceremonies and new winter activities, the popular Polar Bear Swim will indeed be taking place during the 55th annual winter carnival. The Polar Bear swim will take place at Bellevue Park on Feb.11 at 1 p.m. Registration begins at noon.

Join us for 10 days of winter fun at our host site The Machine Shop and many other great events held all over our city.
Buttons are on now sale at ScotiaBank, The Machine Shop box office, all Macs Convenience Stores and Chummy’s Grill.
The bum slides and the new hay maze will be opening at noon on Friday, Feb. 2 for PD Day.
Opening ceremonies at 6 p.m., followed by the OLG fireworks extravaganza at 7 p.m. Afterwards, join us inside The Machine shop for The Broadway Backwards production by Shot in the Dark.
New this year at the opening and all day Saturday will be the Heavy Meta Dragon. It’s 30 feet long, 19 feet high, shoots massive fireballs, with special light effects and a state of the art sound system!
