OTHER DETAILS: Saturday night November 25th, Central United Church is proud to present "Warm Up to Winter," a pre-Christmas program to bring out the holiday spirit and showcase some of the many talented performers that Sault Ste. Marie has to offer.

The program features a religious and Christmas Medley by the Northland Barbershop Chorus directed by Bob Shami.

Mary Madonna, Len Nevin, Jim Grant, Skeets Braido, Nancy Huizing and Marilyn Stasiuk have formed a musical group that will take the audience on a musical journey through some of the all time favourites of the big band years.

Frances Mallinger, recipient of the highest vocal mark in Canada for her grade level in a June 2006 music festival, will perform, accompanied on piano by her father, Stephen Mallinger.

Musical theatre alumni Marla Pritchard, Micheline Findlay, David Root and Teresa Caughill will sing and play Christmas and show favourites including What the World Needs Now, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, By My Side and Not Too Far From Here.

Other Sault Ste. Marie churches are lending their talents to this night.

Lori Mancini and Krystina Murtonen, a mother daughter team from Bethel Bible Chapel will sing.

Dorice Chaumont-Widlas and Kathy McColeman of the praise and worship team at First Baptist Church perform "I Come to Praise You" and "O, Holy Night."

Central United Church performers will take centre stage too.

A highlight of the night will be Central's Fred Kent and the Northernaires, who've been entertaining Algoma and the Sault for over fifty years, playing country and gospel favourites.

Paul Dingle will provide much of the accompaniment for the singers and also direct The Dingle-ings Handbell Choir in the Carol of the Bells and the Warner-Smith family of Alison, Jacqueline and James, also Central choir members, will sing.

James Warner-Smith will act as host for the evening

Tickets for Warm Up to Winter are available at the Central United Church office or at the door starting at 7 p.m. Saturday night.
