Documentary, news and sports winners announced at 21st Annual Gemini Awards

First of three nights for industry awards

TORONTO, Oct. 16 - At the first of three nights of industry awards, the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television announced the winners in the documentary, news and sports categories.

The ceremony took place earlier this evening at the Liberty Grand Entertainment Complex in Toronto.

Tonight's event, along with the next two evenings, will be broadcast on Rogers Television November 16, 17 and 18.

The Gemini lifestyle, children's and youth awards will be announced Tuesday, October 17 followed by the Gemini drama, variety and comedy awards on Wednesday, October 18.
