IRON BRIDGE - The Red Top Motor Inn is proud to present Canadian Blues Musician Ken Hamm to kick-off its 2009 dinner/show season.

Two great evenings of music and food will take place at the Red Top Motor Inn in Iron Bridge Friday May 29 and Saturday May 30, 2009.

Ken Hamm (www.kenhamm.com) is a  Canadian blues and roots music artist with an international reputation.

Emerging from early coffeehouses and Northern Ontario blues bands, to festivals and concert halls, Hamm has been playing professionally since the late 1960’s.

He has a reputation as a dynamic, moving performer, mixing hot slide fingerstyle acoustic blues with original songs based on his travels and encounters.

Ken Hamm is one of Canada's foremost interpreters of traditional roots and blues music.

Since 1978, when he began touring solo, Hamm has won a wide following for his stellar guitar work, as well as for his original songs that reflect his rural west coast life.

Along the way, he was awarded a Juno for best roots and traditional album, has been nominated for recording of the year and nominated several times for best acoustic act of the year by the Toronto Blues Society.

Hamm was also nominated three years running as best acoustic blues guitarist by North America's Guitar Player Magazine, and he was the Canadian representative to the Festival of Plucked Strings in Morocco.

Recent performances have included Edmonton Folk Festival, Calgary Folk Festival, Saskatoon Jazz Festival, and Vancouver Island Musicfest.

Hamm has been a guitar teacher most of his life, and includes a busy schedule of workshops and private lessons as he tours.

"...[Hamm] plays and sings the blues like he was born and bred in the Mississippi Delta... maintains their original character while infusing them with his own interpretive flavor." - Guitar Player Magazine

The blues menu includes home baked French bread, spread and butter, crawfish etouffée in a puff pastry, spring greens with wild leek vinaigrette, pork spareribs in our own barbeque sauce served with dirty rice, pecan pie, and coffee or tea.
