There was toilet paper. There were water pistols. There was toast. And there were countless audience call-backs.
The world’s longest running musical production hit The Grand Theatre stage Saturday night as Saultites transformed themselves into Transylvanians for The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Starring Dr. Eric Haapala as our favourite ’sweet transvestite’ scientist, Frank-N-Furter, the production also featured Steven McCarthy as Riff Raff, Christina Johnson as Janet Weiss, Nick Stadnyk as Brad Majors, Megan Wigmore as Trixie, Kara Colynuck as Magenta, Amie Fisher as Columbia, Sean Robinson as Rocky Horror, Jami Shaffaf as Eddie, Lucas Beaver as Dr. Everett Scott, and John Dedes as the criminologist.
While the 7 p.m. show sold out quickly, fans can still catch the 11 p.m. show at the Grand Theatre. Tickets are available at the door for $25 each. Prop bags will be for sale in the theatre lobby. Costumes are welcome and encouraged.
All proceeds from this production of The Rocky Horror Picture Show will go to support Rainbow Camp, a program for LGBTQ+ youth hosted every summer by the Welcome Friend Association.
