Startlefish will be returning to the Downbeat Lounge this weekend, and are pleased to be sharing the stage with some new special guests. On Friday August 20th, Startlefish will be joined by Jamie Case, Nick Jackson and Andy Jackson. On Saturday August 21 they will be sharing the night with Middlesex County.

Jamie Case (who also plays with Startlefish drummer Ed Young in Crankshaft/Liquid 3/Big Suit) will make his return to the stage following some time off due to injuries of the hand and foot (don't ask). His voice however still works, and Startlefish intend to see it used for their own nefarious purposes. Jamie will sing some lead vocals with Startlefish and then perform a song or two accompanied by Ed Young on the guitar.

Nick Jackson is originally from the Sault, but currently lives in London England where he fronts a band called IT. IT are doing some shows in Canada this summer, and will be in the Algoma area playing Hempfest plus two shows with Startlefish at the end of the month. Nick is working up a few acoustic songs for the occasion that he will be playing, accompanied by his brother Andy on the bass.

On Saturday August 21, Startlefish will be splitting the evening with an out of town band called Middlesex County. Comprised of a few former Sault Ste. Marie boys who now live elsewhere, Middlesex County have been described as having a "crazy cow-punk but not really" type of sound. And really, that's all we know about them. Startlefish will be playing from 10:00 until 11:45, and Middlesex County will be playing from 12:00 until close.

So if variety is to your taste, then come out to the Downbeat this weekend for Startlefish and friends as they play some original music, some cool covers and do their best to make a bar feel like a stadium.
