The community came together to celebrate Sunday during the Loud and Proud Family Day Event as the 2nd annual Sault Pridefest came to a conclusion.
Hosted by the Sault Pride Community, the day began with a march that lead approximately 75 LGBTQ participants, friends and supporters from the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre to the Bondar Pavilion.
Festivities at the Bondar Pavilion - which included live entertainment, vendors, games and activities - continued until 4 p.m. and were 100 percent inclusive.
Sault Pridefest’s week-long schedule of events featured the raising of the pride flag at City Hall, family story time at the Public Library, a coffee night at Shabby Motley, the Info Expo at Sault College, and an 80s themed dance part hat Algoma’s Water Tower Inn.
A number of new events were added to the 2015 festival, including a free anonymous sexual health clinic at Algoma Public Health, a youth dance at Cafe Natura, and a lounge night at Loplops.
The Sault Pride Community hosts monthly coffee nights and other regular LGBTQ gatherings.
