Yesterday, Go North Music Festival announced the return of the annual festival and the official 2022 line-up. Set for Friday, July 8 & Saturday, July 9, this year's festival, held on beautiful St. Joseph Island, will feature an incredible group of Canadian talent including this year's Saturday night headliners, Juno award-winning rock band Crown Lands. The Saturday line-up also includes singer-songwriter Charlotte Cornfield (Rolling Stone recently called her Canada's Best-Kept Secret), Thunder Bay rock'n'roll band The Honest Heart Collective, contemporary garage rock trio Royal Castles, rock group Taming Sari, Toronto rock band Goodnight Sunrise, and local favourites The Uncanny Valley and Cass FM.

This year the festival will kick off on Friday, July 8 with a special opening night concert at the Centennial Grounds featuring rootsy blues singer-songwriter Jay Pollmann. The Friday night concert can be paired with dinner from one of the amazing local restaurants. Make it a package deal including a taste of the island, camping, and the show!

"After establishing the Go North Music Festival over our first three years, pausing for 2020 and 2021 was a big letdown," shares Go North Chair Jody Wildman. "When things started to look better for 2022, we made the decision that we were going to continue to expand the event with an increased budget for artists and the addition of an opening night concert on Friday. We think people are going to love this year's line up, all the vendors, and our great Family Zone activities. It's going to be a great weekend to spend on St. Joseph Island."

Early bird online tickets are available now via Eventbrite - Go North Music Festival 2022. $45 for early bird Friday and Saturday included (first 100 tickets only), $60 for advance Friday and Saturday, or $45 advance for Saturday only, and $70 (Friday and Saturday) or $55 (Saturday only) at the gate (HST included). Admission for kids 12 and under is free, and for youth 13 to 18 years old is $35 for both days or $15 for Saturday only. Tickets are available online now and will be available soon at various local vendors. Check the website for location listings.

What's The Story About Go North Music Festival?

Go North Music Festival is a family-friendly event, featuring a variety of talented and critically acclaimed musical acts from across Canada, local artisans, local craft beer (including Northern Superior Brewing and Outspoken Brewing), and delicious food (including gluten-free and vegan options). The festival site, the Richards Landing Centennial Grounds, is a lush green space, nestled in the centre of old-growth maple trees. The space was built for large events and offers wide-open spaces and room to stretch out and make a zone for you and your crew.

There are activities for kids and a kid’s stage with performances by select main stage acts. The family zone will feature a Science North interactive exhibit and has games, crafts, and a giant community mural project families can help with.

Plan your road trip to include overnight camping, available Friday and Saturday night. This year they will again feature their Fireside Jam after hours.
