GALLERY: Live music and ribs kick off Rotaryfest 2024

Annual event includes three days of tunes on three stages, food, children’s activities, car show, buskers and 101st Annual Rotary Community Day Parade

Rotaryfest - the Sault’s annual summer festival - kicked off early Thursday evening in Clergue Park with live music acts on Stage 1.

There are three music stages at this year’s festival including SooToday’s Stage Two.

Stage 1 concerts will run for all three days while SooToday’s Stage Two will run from 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Friday and 1:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Saturday.

Stage 3 - new this year - will have performances from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday. 

Crowds lined up Thursday to purchase chicken and ribs from out-of-town vendors at the 11th Annual Ribfest while children enjoyed many activities such as playing on inflatables, games, pony rides and face painting.

Clothing and jewellery were on sale from various vendors.

Ribfest and children’s activities - as well as busker performances - will also run for each of the festival’s three days.

The Rotaryfest Wheels on the Water Car Show will take place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at The Machine Shop.

The Algoma Makers Market will be on hand from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday in the Bay Street Active Living Centre’s south parking lot.

The Gable Bros. Midway runs Thursday through Saturday at the green space immediately north of the Ronald A. Irwin Civic Centre. 

The Rotaryfest Miracle Mile Colour Blast takes place from 9 a.m. to 10:20 a.m. on Bay Street.

The 101st Annual Rotary Community Day Parade - with the theme of Welcome to the Zoo - will proceed along Bay Street due to construction on Queen Street at 11 a.m. Saturday.
