GALLERY: Jamestown families find enjoyable ways to cool off

The 4th annual Sal's Kids Summer Day brought dozens to Spadoni's parking lot on Sunday

Residents of all ages in Jamestown were enjoying the sunshine on Sunday as the 4th annual Sal's Kids Summer Day returned to Spadoni's parking lot.

A variety of family-friendly activities, vendors, and food and refreshments were enjoyed by the dozens who attended the event this afternoon.

Among the popular games was the miniature dunk tank, which tested participants' aim and gave the little ones a great way to cool off from the heat.

Members of SOYA (Save Our Young Adults) were on-site to provide information and resources to attendees, while members of Sault Fire Services brought one of their firetrucks for tours and demonstrations.

The event was funded by the Jamestown Strong West End Vendor Show, which was hosted at The Rink next to the Machine Shop last month.

Several parents in attendance told SooToday they feel "very positive" about the state of Jamestown in recent times, while others noted they're "sleeping much better at night" as they sense their neighbourhood is becoming significantly less dangerous compared to years past.
