The Algoma Repertory Theatre will be presenting a transformed female version of The Odd Couple in February and auditions are getting underway.

A.R.T. is looking for six women and two men to help put on the performance, which will run from Feb. 19–22, 2025 at Quattro Hotel

A breakdown of the characters includes:

  • Olive Madison: divorced, professional, vibrant, quick-witted, big-hearted, but also relentlessly sloppy and careless when it comes to the routine concerns of her personal life
  • Florence Unger:  a homemaker/housewife and very recently separated from her husband, was a bookkeeper before she married - extremely "pulled together" (obsessively so)
  • Mickey: a New York City policewoman, an organizer and problem solver
  • Vera: literal-minded but a bit slow to get a point - always seems "a few beats behind the conductor”
  • Sylvie: highly energetic and wise cracking - desperately trying to stop smoking - she can get irritated with her friends, but has a good sense of humour, especially about her husband
  • Renee: a wisecracker and a bit of a complainer - Sylvie’s best friend - can be very plain-spoken
  • Manolo: very well-groomed, and Spanish with a Castilian accent; he is every woman's dream date
  • Jesus: Manolo’s younger brother; also very well-groomed, excellent posture, very romantic

Audition details are as follows:

Date: Nov. 6, 2024
Time: 6:30 p.m.
